Daguerreotype

It is the 1920s. The world has no colors except all the myriad shades of grey. There’s a crack in the sea where the color leaks out of the earth’s heart. It’s called the Marinara Trench because it is stained red like a jar of marinara sauce. The only colorful object in this world other than gold coins and green leaves. It fell through a crack in the sky one day, and is currently displayed in the British Natural History Museum. Rumors have surfaced about the mysterious phenomenon. You are searching for this source of color, or perhaps another source such as the legendary City of Gold, where all yellow and yellow-adjacent colors come from.

Daguerreotype is a solo journalling-themed minimalist TTRPG that's theoretically set on Planet Earth in the 1920s. Given the lack of color and the presence of magic (whoops, spoilers), the historical accuracy may be lacking but I hope you find it interesting.
